Daria's Vogue Nippon December editorial was posted on tFS earlier today and "Whoa Daria" was the first thing that came to mind when I saw it! We have plenty of boob shots and almost full frontals to talk about now! I am really loving this editorial, there is just something about it that makes you keep turning the page to see the next shot. 40 pages of Daria au natural. I think one of the reasons why I like this editorial so much is that it is so different from what she has been doing lately - beauty eds/articles and Lancome ads. I also love the setting. The wheat fields allow you to really focus on the model, it's not too distracting, yet adds so much to the overall image. The clothes that were chosen are the same way; they are there to make it a fashion editorial, but are sort-of draped over the woman's body. The dark colors accentuate the overall theme of Fall and make Daria stand out amid the wheat stalks. One more thing, I feel like this editorial features the "true" Daria in the sense that she is wearing little makeup and her hair naturally down.
I wonder what Daria was thinking while shooting this. Is this another one of those times where she is like, "What am I going to eat for dinner?" or is she actually thinking, "Do my boobs look good in this shot?" I guess as a model you sort of get used to exposing yourself like this and learn to not really care anymore if you are nude or clothed. Whatever Daria was thinking, I would say this editorial is a success - a great way to end the year. This is definitely a must buy magazine, I hope I will be able to get it! Doesn't it seem like this editorial would be in Vogue Paris though?
Thank you so much s'ngac and MissMagAddict for posting and reposting these snapshots! Thank you a.t. and MAGstyle for the scans!
Enjoy feasting your eyes on almost all of Daria!

very good posting! you summarise it very well!
yeah, this editorial has been a surprise after the rather *prude* recent work, and it's a very fresh thing. i feel the first darialogistic true deep emotion after a while...
this is the kind of nudity i love: not a heterosexist object, but a female body subject, which is daria's peculiarity. [also because when they treat her as an object (like vogue germany 2007), she fails.]
so this is a nude editorial like any should be: a poetic celebration of body, something to be proud of. that's why i don't think she felt embarassed or whatever. actually, it's a kind of nudity that helps us to go beyond puritanism.
you can see there is a woman behind the camera. and a smart guy.
